The Exo Terra Pro Paludarium™ is the tall, semi-aquatic version of the Pro range, designed to recreate complex natural habitats with aquatic, riparian and terrestrial zones. With an extra-deep waterproof base and bottom drain with tap, concealed three-tier adjustable ventilation, a removable stainless steel mesh top and access from both the front and the top, it is ideal for paludariums, rainforest setups and climbing species that need high humidity.
Developed from the Exo Terra Pro Terrarium™ range, the Pro Paludarium™ is designed for keepers who want to go further in recreating natural environments. Its tall format and extra-deep waterproof base allow the space to be divided into three zones — aquatic, riparian (the land-water transition) and terrestrial — while making full use of the height for vertical structures, plants and branches.
It is the right choice for recreating riverbanks, swamps and humid rainforests, housing reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates, and even small freshwater fish and shrimp in the aquatic zone.
The watertight, extra-deep base allows a true water area to be created, as well as drainage layers and bioactive substrates. The closable bottom drain, together with the tubing, elbow connector and tap, makes it easy to remove excess water and carry out weekly water changes without dismantling the habitat. The base is only watertight once the tubing, elbow connector and tap are attached to the drain.
Discreet vents allow airflow to be adjusted on three levels. The patented forced vertical airflow system helps prevent condensation on the front glass — essential in a high-humidity habitat — and an integrated dirt collector catches any dust or substrate escaping through the vents.
The removable top features a patented in-frame locking mechanism and a high-quality stainless steel mesh that ensures good UVB penetration. It can be lifted off to make decorating, maintenance or equipment installation easier.
The front doors (single or double, depending on the model) open with spring-loaded push latches and have an integrated lock that prevents accidental opening and escapes. Together with the removable top, they make working inside the enclosure easy.
The interior includes attachment points for misting nozzles and gutters for tubing, so it is ready for an automatic misting system such as the Exo Terra Monsoon (not included) — ideal for species that depend on constant rain and humidity.
Several self-closing inlets at the back of the top allow lighting cables, thermostat probes and tubing to be routed neatly, without compromising the safety or the look of the paludarium.
The raised bottom frame allows a heat mat to be fitted underneath the enclosure, helping to create temperature gradients.
Note: misting system, lighting, heating and decor are not included.
If you have any questions about the most suitable size or about setting up a paludarium, the Vivum team will be happy to advise.
