Natural Habitat: The Inseto Pau inhabits dense, humid rainforests in Vietnam and is usually found among vegetation.

The Inseto Pau is a fascinating creature, popular as an exotic pet thanks to its unique appearance and interesting behaviour. It is a species suitable for beginners.

Although this is an easy species to keep, you should pay attention to a few aspects and ensure certain conditions, which you will find in the following paragraphs.

Terrarium

Size: A minimum terrarium of 30x30x30cm is recommended for up to 5 stick insects.

 - Heating and Lighting

The Insetos Pau should be kept at a temperature between 22 and 26ºC. You can maintain these temperatures with a Heat Mat, ideally controlled by a thermostat. 

The Insetos Pau do not need UVB.

- Humidity

As the Inseto Pau lives in rainforests, a constant relative humidity of around 80% should be maintained. 

- Decor

For decor, try to recreate a forest habitat with plenty of branches and twigs for them to cling to. You can decorate the terrarium with logs, plants, cork bark, stones, moss... 

Diet and Supplementation

Feeding habits: Herbivorous

 Diet: The Inseto Pau feeds on rose, raspberry, oak and bramble leaves.
